A nice note...

Apart from making music, I like nothing more than to hear feedback from the audience. I genuinely enjoy hearing people’s views and am always eager to have a discussion. From time to time an audience member may write me a note – either expressing thanks for the concert or sometime making suggestions for repertoire they would like to hear.
After the recent Nelson Opera in the Park concert, I received this unexpected note from the Hon. Dr. Nick Smith – MP for Nelson. I fervently believe that orchestras are a force for good in the community – a force that has magnificent potential for adding to a community’s quality of life – in much the same way that libraries, art galleries, museums and parks add to the luster of a city. It is gratifying to know that significant politicians on the national scene appreciate this and are supportive of our endeavours.
